Dear Diary

I swear he was staring at me for nearly an hour today. It feels good but I can't concentrate! He also bought me breakfast! He's a real gentleman SOMETIMES; sometimes he can be a bit ignorant, childish and very sexist but he's also very smart, sexy, kind, thoughtful and funny. Exactly the kind of man I would like! It'll never happen between us he's to…. Just too..!
Kate paused before she wrote anymore into her diary, desperately trying to make her mind change the subject before picking up her pen to continue her writing.
Got in contact with my old best mate Nikki, she totally rocks but I can't remember the last time we spoke. She might come say hello sometime whilst she's in D.C it'll be nice to see her some more! Used to be friends, way back when we were kids, we both shared traumatic lives so I suppose we could relate. Anyway I'll be glad to see some of my old friends again it's been so long.





She closed her diary and put it back into her desk next to her gun.
"Tony? Where are my nuts?"
"Kate I hope you don't mean your delicious roasted, golden, salted peanuts!"
"YEA TONY I DO HAVE YOU EATEN THEM!"
"No, they're in the other drawer!"
She paused, she'd been so snappy to him for no reason "Oh for goodness sakes as if he cares he just wants you to feel bad!" she thought to herself "Sorry Tony" she apologised
Tony just looked at her staring into space, at Kate of course or there would be no point.
"Tony, do you not think Kate gets annoyed with you looking at her for a long time?" said Ziva.
Tony awoke from his trance momentarily.
"Ziva I told you not to sneak up on me" he said anger now apparent in his face.
"I didn't, I have been stood here for 10 minutes Tony and you just were too obsessed with Kate to notice" she laughed.
"What are you two on about, did I hear my name?" Kate questioned.
"It depends on how good your hearing is" smiled Ziva.
Kate looked at her fiercely as if to say `back the hell of` Ziva stalked over to her desk, staring down at Kate as she passed.
"Nice drawing IS THAT TONY!" she yelled
Kate shut her sketch pad quickly. Tony's head was popping above the files on his desk to see what all the commotion was about.
"Ziva it is none of your business what Kate is doing, get to your desk!" Gibbs shouted
Ziva gave Gibbs a angry look then poked out her tongue.
"I saw that!" said Gibbs
She sat down and poked her tongue out at him again
"I saw that too, I see everything" he smiled at sat down to some steaming coffee that had been presented to him by the director after being upstairs with her for quite awhile.
Tony walked over to Kate and knelt down beside her.
"Don't take Ziva so seriously, she's just jealous because were such good friends" he smiled then walked back over to his desk to continue his mountain of paper work, thinking about Kate every word he wrote.
"He's just trying to fool you again Kate, he's not really being nice to you, he just wants to make out, he doesn't care about your feelings!" all of this was starting to make her head hurt.
"I'm leaving, all my work is finished"
"Bye Caitlyn" smirked Ziva.
"Bye Kate" Gibbs called as he got up to answer to the director.
"Kate do you need a lift home?" asked Tony.
"Um n-no thanks Tony" and she left without another word to her team.
"BYE KATE" she heard McGee call as she stepped into the elevator silently thinking about Tony and nothing else.

Dear Diary


Miss `David` is really starting to annoy me! Tony is again trying to win me over with his charm. His is really hot though got to admit. I think he's just a completely different person but he wont let anyone else se because he's scared what they will think of him, maybe they wont take him seriously anymore. Well I like the other Tony just as much as the normal Tony. If only he'd let them both show. Nikki called!!!!!! Yay! She said she may pop in to see me at ncis say hello to a few people, get too know where I work, and to see if there is any fit guys. TRUST NIKKI!!



Kate placed the diary she had retrieved from her bag earlier gently into her chest. The diary was slowly growing with information. Good and bad, about her everyday life and dreams. She treasured it because this was the only way she could let out her feelings for Tony without him finding out. Another email from the high school jerk that had always had a crush on Kate, Daryl O'harran popped up onto the screen just like magic.
Kate sighed as she deleted e-mail upon e-mail of crap like "Oh Katie I love you just give it one more chance" "Oh Katie come around for dinner"
"Uh no" she thought to herself.
"Ahhhhhhh" she yelled as yet another email shot into her inbox.
She gave up and pulled out the power lead. She slumped onto her bed and almost momentarily fell into a deep, disturbing sleep.

"KATE" shouted Tony.
"Tony I love you" she said clutching the knife wound through her stomach.
"Kate you are strong ok?"
"Look after Nikki for me!"
"Kate don't leave, what about our kids!"
"Look after them for me!"

Her head drooped as Tony fell to the floor, crying at the sight of his dead wife, cradling her softly in his arms, blood al over his sweater.
"NOOOOOOO" Kate shouted her head damp with sweat, he clothes stuck to her skin.

"The dream was so vivid" she spoke steadily into the receiver.
"If you want you can come over spend the night with me!"
"Thanks Tony but I can't just waltz in there….."
"Bite your tongue; you can have my bed, ill take the couch"
"But it was only a dream" "A scary dream"
"I'll come pick you up Kate"
"But I feel stupid, it was only a dream"
Tony hung up. It was obvious now he really did care about Kate or was this all one big scam to get her into bed?
She could hear a car pulling up outside "How stupid am I being! It was only a dream"
There was a quiet tapping on the door. Kate quickly pulled in some clothes into a bag and hauled it of the bed. She ran over to the door of her apartment, she glanced and the clock it was only half past nine. She opened the door, Nikki was stood there, her clothes dripping wet and her hair stuck to her face.
"NIKKI WHATS HAPPENED"
A tear streamed down Nikki's face, visible through all the rain water.
"I think you better come inside!"
Tony walked up the pathway after her. Kate had just ignored him!
"KATE!!" he called
"Hey Tony come in a minute!"
Hey obeyed with a nod running in trying not to get to wet.


He sipped his coffee as Nikki told her how she had been followed by someone she didn't even know.
"He followed me Kate! He wouldn't leave me alone!"
"Its ok you can stay the night with me!" Kate said gently. "Now you're here Tony, you can stay, save you from going out into the rain again"
"Nah, its ok Kate, I should be getting home" he smiled placing down his hot chocolate onto the coffee table.
"It was nice meeting you Tony" Nikki laughed
"Yes you too!"

Tony left silently, slightly disappointed that Kate wasn't staying. He really wanted to prove that there was a different side to him, that he could look after her when the time came to call.
"Bye Kate" he thought to himself "See you tomorrow"
"Bye Tony" Kate thought to herself "See you in the morning"

Dear Diary

Abbey and I sorted out a date that we could all go out and have Chinese food; we invited Nikki so all of the team could get to know her a little. Next Friday I think we planned at the Jade. Nikki came around last night; she was really upset because someone has been following her. She is staying at my house so she feels a bit safer. Tony looked really nice today, he offered me over last night because I was scared. I'm really starting to like the other side of Tony as well. New case starts tomorrow, drug use aboard an aircraft carrier.


Kate put the diary into her bag and look over too Tony who was playing something on his phone. She smiled too herself. She pulled a mirror out of her bad and stared into it, desperately trying to get Tony's attention. She starts coughing to make Tony look.
"I'm being so stupid" she laughs to herself
Tony turns to look at Kate to see what all the coughing is about.
"Kate are you ok, do you want me to get a drink of water or something?"
"No its ok" she chokes.
"Are you sure ill get you one if you want"
"If she doesn't want one Tony leave her to be!"
"Ziva its leave her be"
Ziva blushes a little; she was always being corrected by Tony like it was some little joke. Kate however didn't find this funny.
"Tony, Ziva is trying to learn a new language, it's not her fault if she gets a little confused!" shouted Kate
Tony was shocked; he didn't think Kate would ever stick up for Ziva. Kate was annoyed with Ziva for replacing her whilst Kate was looking after her mom.
Ziva however looked at Kate shocked that she had stuck up for her as well
"Thank you Kate" she smiled.
Kate didn't reply, she didn't hate Ziva but she didn't like her either. He doesn't like being corrected by her so she thought she'd show Tony it isn't fair. She smiled at him in a soothing way that just made him want to kill her for making him want to beg for her touch. He let out one of his cheeky grins and got back to work. Gibbs surveyed him, wanting to kill him for flirting with Kate when that's all that Gibbs wanted to do. But, He never would, it wouldn't be fair. He didn't know why, It just wouldn't be! He was old enough to be her Dad or granddad, well granddad was pushing but …. No he would drop this subject right here, right now!
Kate fiddled with her silver, shiny hoops whilst filling in the report on the last case.
"DINOZZO!" shouted Gibbs.
"GAS THE TRUCK" "KATE GEAR UP" "ZIVA JUST GET IN THE TRUCK"
"Where are we going boss?"
"Norfolk, found a dead sailor positioned outside a bar on a bench"
"Ill go and get ducky" said McGee.
And they left the building, Tony slightly brushing his body against Kate's in the elevator.
She looked at him and smiled "DiNozzo"

They got out of the truck and walked up the path to the already cordoned of bar. It was deserted and rather `spooky` to Kate and the team. Kate snapped the dead sailor that looked in perfect health except for the fact he was dead. There was no blood on the uniform or the sailor or around the body for that matter.


"Potassium overdose" ducky exclaimed.
"He was also stabbed three times in the back"
"To make sure he was dead duck?" asked Gibbs
"That's would be my guess Jethro"
"Why no blood, was he moved?"
"No Ziva his heart had stopped because of the potassium overdose, after that his circulatory system shut down that is why little or no blood was found at the crime scene"
"This reminds me of a case……"
"Not now ducky. Was this accidental or natural?"
"Hard to tell Jethro although I sent the stomach contents up to abbey. She will be able to tell us whether he was murdered, or if he was on a banana craze!"
Gibbs left laughing on the course to abbeys lab!
