Kate lays on her back in bed. It is early in the morning and the sun is seeping through the curtains and warms her face. She feels her husbands head lying gently on her stomach. She runs her hand through his hair and kisses his head.
“ Its time to get up hun” she says softly.
“ 5 more minuets” he groans cuddling her more.
“ I wish. Come on. The sooner we go the sooner we come back” she says slowly sitting up.
“ You know that isn’t always true” he says getting up.
“ I know but it helps doesn’t it”
“ Yeah” he says kissing her. They get up and dressed.
Gibbs makes them a coffee.
“ Thanks” she says grabbing her coffee off him.
“ How about Daniel if it’s a boy and Elizabeth if it’s a girl” he says then takes a sip of his coffee.
“ What?”
“ For names. I just go thinking” he said shyly. She smiled at him.
“ I like them” she walked over and kissed him. He pulled back and looked a her.
“ Your going to be the best mother” he tells her.
“ And your going to the best father” she says with a smile. He bends down and kisses her stomach.
“ You know, you don’t have to do that every morning”
“ I know, but I want to”
“ Gibbs” she says with a sigh.
“ What?” he asks standing back up.
“ Your perfect” she says. He gives a little laugh.
“ You say that now” he says kissing her.
They finally get to work. Gibbs walks to her to the bullpen. He sees Tony sitting at his desk.
“ DiNozzo. Take care of her” he says.
“ I always do boss” he says with a nod.
“ You don’t have to call me boss anymore. Its director” he says with a smile. He kissed Kate and went up the stairs to his office. Kate sat at her desk.
“ So any names yet” Tony asked her.
“ Yes. Tony and Ziva if you must know” she said with a smile.
“ What? I mean Tony I can understand but why Ziva?”. Just then Ziva walked into the bullpen.
“ Why me what?” she asked sitting down at her desk (Tony’s old desk).
“ Its nothing. Tony just asked if we have come up any names yet I said Tony and Ziva”
“ Really” Ziva said with a smile on her face.
“ Uh sorry to tell you but we didn’t. He came up with Daniel and Elizabeth”
“ Their nice to” Ziva said.
“ Ok enough with the names” Tony said.
“ You’re the one who started the conversation” Kate pointed out.

Kate and Gibbs have been together for 5 years. They got married 2 years ago. 2 months ago they got the news that Kate was pregnant and a month before that Gibbs had been promoted to Director of NCIS due to some unfortunate events.
Tony had been handed the team and the agency brought in another agent for the team. Ziva David, a mossard officer. It took a while for Ziva to fit in especially after they found out that Ziva was Ari’s half sister. But now she is like one of the family, although Abby still doesn’t trust her fully.

McGee came running up from Abby’s lab.
“ Kate…Abby…needs…you” he breathed. Kate stood up and ran down to Abby’s lab with Tony, Ziva close behind her.
“ Abby what’s the emergency?” Kate asked.
“ Oh no emergency” she said casually.
“ What? McGee came running up I thought”
“ I told him if he didn’t get you ASAP I would kill him” Abby said with a smile.
“ Ok. So what is that you want wit me?”
“ I want to show you something” she said with a smile. She saw Tony and Ziva’s confused faces. She smiled at Tony but glared at Ziva.
They walked to her computer screen.
“ Ok so I have this program and I decided to experiment with it” she said as they looked at the enlarged screen on the wall.
“ What does it do?” Tony asked.
“ Well you have to people eg Tommy and Sally” she said and two people’s face’s appeared wither side of the screen.
“ And then it shows what their children will look like” she said hitting the morph button and in the middle of the two faces was a little girl with brown hair and green eyes.
“ Ok so why did you want me?” Kate asked still not getting it.
“ Because I want you to see what your kids will look like” she said and pulled a picture of Gibbs and Kate.
“ No Abbs I don’t want to see” she started but stopped when a picture a teenage boy popped up on the screen.
“ Oh my god” Kate gasped.
“ Wow he’s cute’ Abby commented. They all looked at her in amusement.
“ What? He is. Ok now the daughter” she said then clicked another button and another picture popped up.
“ She’s hot” Tony exclaimed straight away. Ziva and Kate both slapped his head. Abby couldn’t help but laugh.
“ She looks like you Kate” Abby said.
“ Yes she what you say…gorgeous yes” Ziva said.
“ Ok Abbs that’s enough for one day” Kate said. She gave Abbs a hug and left for the bullpen.
She sat at her desk waiting for something to come up. It was quiet as anything. She looked down at her stomach. She wasn’t quiet sowing yet but you could tell there was a bump.
“ Please be a Daniel, for your fathers sake” she said as she rubbed her tummy. She looked up at Gibbs office and it to seemed to be fairly quiet. She decided to go pay him a visit.
She walked into the waiting room and talked to Cynthia to make sure he was alone.
“ He hasn’t had any calls or visit all morning. Go straight a head. Do you want me to tell you you’re here?” she asked with a smile.
“ No, no. I’ll surprise him. Thankyou” she said with a smile. Kate went and knocked on his door.
“ Enter” he called. She opened the door and walked in quietly. He had his glasses on and was ready some file. She walked up to his desk and leant on it.
“ You know I always did think the glasses made you look smarter” she said with a smile. He finally look up from the file.
“ What are you doing here?” he asked with the biggest smile. He leaned over and kissed her.
“ It is dead quiet down stairs so I thought I’ll come and visit you” she said walking around his desk. He pushed his chair out so she could sit on his lap. He put his arms round her to keep her close. She rested her head on his chest. His hand came down and rested on her stomach.
“ How’s he going?” Gibbs asked.
“ Good” she gave a little laugh.
“ What?” he asked.
“ Abby has this program that morphs people’s faces and shows what their children will look like”
“ And she showed you ours” he said the started to kiss her neck.
“ Yep. First she did our son”
“ Daniel”
“ Hmm”
“ And”
“ Abby thought he was hot” she said with a smile. Gibbs laughed.
“ Then it was our daughter”
“ Elizabeth”
“ Yeah. Lets just say we wont be letting her out until…she’s to old for DiNozzo” she laughed.
“ Oh that good”
“ Yep” she said. He was taking over her neck and she couldn’t take it. She turned around and straddled his waist. She takes over his mouth. She starts undoing his shirt, then runs her hands down his bare chest. Jus then Gibbs’ phone started to ring.
“ Yeah” he said pressing speaker.
“ Director, Agent DiNozzo is here to see you” Cynthia said.
“ Tell him to come back later”
“ Yes sir” she said.
“ Oh and Cynthia”
“ Yes Sir”
“ Take my calls for me would you” he said then hung up.
He turned back to Kate. He started to undo her top and ran his hands all over her skin. She kissed alone his neck and down to his silver haired chest. Her hands ran down and landed on his belt. She started undoing it but stopped.
“ We shouldn’t do this” she breathed.
“ Why not?”
“ Because anyone could just walk in and not to mention the security camera’s” she whispered.
“ Good point” he agreed. They buttoned each other up and with some more kisses Kate left.
“ He’s free now” she announced as she walked out. She made her way down the stairs and was met by Tony at the bottom.
“ What do you think you were doing” he said sounding pissed.
“ Why is it any of your business”
“ Just because your husband happens to be the director doesn’t mean you can go and visit him when ever you like” he yelled at he as they entered the bullpen. Ziva sat at her desk trying not to look at them.
“ What else am I supposed while I’m sitting on my ass doing nothing” she yelled back. Tony didn’t say anything more in case he said something he regretted. They both sat at their desks in silence. Ziva got up and walked over Kate’s desk.
“ Don’t worry about him, he’s just a bit…strezzed” she said with a smile.
“ Shouldn’t I be saying that to you” she said with a smile. Ziva smiled back and went over to Tony’s desk.
“ Your jealous aren’t you” she said with a smile.
“ What? of Kate and Gibbs. No way”
“ Yes way. You want to be like them” she said. He didn’t look at her. He knew she was right.
“ I would of chosen you over Gibbs” she whispered to him and walked back to his desk.
The day went on and still nothing came up.
It was time to go home and Gibbs came bounding down the stairs and into the bullpen. He stopped at Kate’s desk.
“ You ready?” he asked.
“ Yes just give me a minuet. What’s the rush” she said with a smile.
“ Well I thought we could finish what we started” he whispered into her ear. She grabbed her stuff.
“ See you guys tomorrow” she said and grabbed Gibbs’ hand and ran for the elevator.

10 months later.
Kate holds her 3 month old son. Gibbs stands next to her while Abby and Ducky stand on the other side of her.
They are standing at the front of the church. They are getting baby Daniel christened. Abby was the godmother and Ducky was the godfather. The priest make Abby and Ducky say a prey and ends the ceremony.
All the guests are invited to the back hall of the church for a lunch. Kate still has Daniel in his arms. She passes him over to Abby for a while and goes and sits down next to Gibbs at the table.
“ You ok?” he asks kissing he head.
“ Yeah. Just tired” she said with a smile. He put his arm around her and they just relaxed for a while as they watched everyone celebrating their baby.
They finally arrived home. Daniel was asleep in Gibbs’ arms as Kate opened the door and struggled to get inside with all the bags she had.
“ I’ll put him to bed” Gibbs said walking down the hall and into his room. Kate went into their room and got changed. She climbed into bed and relaxed down under the blankets. Gibbs walked in and got undressed and hoped into bed next to Kate.
“ Night” he said with a kiss on her cheek.
“ Night” she replied. They fell asleep fairly quickly as their day had been full of celebrations.
Kate was in a deep sleep when she could hear softly.

Kate slowly opened her eyes and could see a glow coming from her babies room. She rolled over to see that her husband was gone. She decided to get up. She walked into Daniel’s room to find him resting on Gibbs’ chest as he sways gently to the music. She stand at the door with a smile at this scene.
She walked into the room. Gibbs looked up and saw her heading for them. He smiled sweetly at her. He put his arm around her and she cuddled up to his chest and ran her hand softly over Daniel’s head.

They swayed together to the music.
“ I love you” he whispered and kissed her on the head.
“ I love you” she said and leaned up and kissed him.

13 months later.
Gibbs has been at work since early this morning and is finally on his way home.
Kate has just finished bathing Daniel and took him into his room to get him changed. She dried him off and got his nappy on. She went to his draws and got out his pj’s and when she turned around Daniel was gone. She got up off the floor and ran out the door to see a half naked 16 month old boy running down the hall. She chased after him when the front door opened and Gibbs walked through the door and couldn’t help but laugh at the sight he was met with.
“ Daddii” Daniel squealed when he realised his Dad was home. he ran up to him and grabbed hold of his leg. Kate stopped when she saw her husband pick up the half naked boy she had been chasing.
“ I see your getting your exercise” he said with a laugh. She smiled at him, kissed him and handed him Daniel’s pj’s.
“ Your turn” she said. He took the pj’s and headed off in the direction of his room. She walked into the kitchen and sat on one of the chairs.
Gibbs came back into the lounge room and didn’t see Kate. He went into the kitchen and saw her lying on the kitchen bench asleep. He walked up to her and picked her up. She slung her hands around his neck. He gently laid her down on the bed and tucked her in. He then went around the house to make sure all doors and windows were looked and then went to bed himself.
The next morning they were woken up by.
“ Mummii. Daddii. Hungriii” Daniel yelled from his bedroom.
“ Mummy’s coming honey” she yelled back as she started to get out of bed.
She gets up and sees him standing up in his bed. She picks him up and takes him into the kitchen and places him in his high chair. She walked over to the cupboard.
“ apple and strawberry or banana?” she asks him.
“ nana” he says gleefully. She grabs the little bottled of puréed food. She sits down and starts to feed him. Gibbs walks out.
“ Coffee?” he asks.
“ Yes please” she says with a smile. He walks over to the coffee machine and turns it on.
“ What are you doing today?” he asks her.
“ Uh…I have no idea. We did shopping and went to the park yesterday” she said.
“ Why don’t you bring him to work” he suggested. She looked at him in surprise.
“ Do you think that’s a good idea? I mean with all the stuff that goes on there”
‘ Yeah I think it is. It’ll be good for you to get out and see everyone and it’ll be good for him to meet them”
“ Well if your sure”
“ I’m sure. Remember I’m the boss” he said with a laugh.
After breakfast they all got ready and were out in the car and on their way to NCIS HQ.
The elevator dings open and out steps Gibbs with his wife and son behind him. They walk to the bullpen where Tony was sitting at his desk.
“ Kate. What are you doing here. And with Daniel?” he asked confused.
“ We were bored at home so we decided to come visit"
“ Director Gibbs” Cynthia called down from the top of the stairs.
“ Gotta go” he said and kissed of both them. Daniel waved goodbye to him with a smile. Then Ziva and McGee walked into the bullpen.
“ Kate, what are you doing here?” McGee asked just as surprised as Tony was.
“ We got bored” she simply said.
“ Oh my god he is so big now” Ziva said with a smile walking over to them.
“ Here can you hold him for a sec” Kate said handing him to Ziva.
“ Uh ok sure” she said nervously.
“ Hey Daniel how are you” she said as he smiled at her. Ziva took him over to her desk and played with him. Kate walked over to Tony’s desk.
“ Tony” she said softly.
“ Yes Kate”
“ I want to come back to work” she said.
“ What about Daniel?”
“ He is old enough for day care. I need to come back Tony”
“ I don’t know. We would love to have you back but I would have to get the Director to pass on it” he said looking up at her.
“ I’ll talk to him about it”
“ Fine, if you can get him to agree to it then I will gladly have you back” he said.
“ Great. Hey McGee is Abby in her lab?” she asked turning around to see him playing with Daniel with Ziva.
“ Yep and Ducky is with her” he said with a smile. Kate walked over to Ziva’s desk and picked up Daniel.
“ He likes playing with you guys. We will be back up later” she said with a smile. They made their way down to the lab and saw Abby and Ducky talking and laughing.
“ Hey guys” she said walking into the lab. They both turned around to see them.
“ Hey, what are you guys doing here?” Abby asked walking over and taking Daniel from her.
“ We got bored at home so we thought we will come visit” she said with a smile.
“ That’s great. Who’s a big boy” Abby said tickling his belly. He laughed so hard.
“ Have you thought of coming back to work?” Ducky asked.
“ I was just talking to Tony about it”
“ And?”
“ He said I should talk to Gibbs about it first”
“ That’s not a bad idea” he said with a soft smile.
“ Bbii” Daniel squealed. Ducky and Kate just laughed at them.
Kate was up in the bullpen with Daniel and the others. Gibbs came down the stairs and into the bullpen.
“ Daddii” Daniel squealed as he ran to Gibbs.
“ Hey little man” he said with a smile and picked him up.
“ Are you being a good boy?’ he asked. Daniel nodded with a big smile. Gibbs walked over to the others.
“ Hey. Are you ready to go home?” Kate asked with a kiss.
“ Just about” he said with a smile.
“ Hey Gibbs what do you” Abby started but got interrupted by Cynthia calling for Gibbs again.
“ The governor general is on the line for you” she said. Gibbs sighed, kissed Daniel and handed him back to Kate.
“ Daddy will be home as soon as possible ok” he said. Daniel nodded and kissed him.
“ Don’t wait up” he said softly to Kate and kissed her then left for his office. They all watched him go.
“ Well I guess I’ll see you guys later” Kate said grabbing her things.
“ Don’t worry Caitlin, it will get better” Ducky said with a soft smile.
“ I hope so Duck” she returned his smile and with a wave they left.
Kate fed Daniel dinner in the lounge room watching the news.
“ Where Daddii” he asks with a mouth full of food.
“ He’s still at work honey. He will be home soon” she said with a soft smile. She gave him a bath and got him dressed and Gibbs still wasn’t home. They sat on the lounge watching Wallace and Grommet. Kate looked down at her little boy beside her. He had fallen asleep so she took him to bed. She walked down the hall heading for the lounge room to turn the TV off when the front door opened and Gibbs walked inside.
“ Hey” he said as he put his gear down.
“ Hey. Busy?” she asks.
“ Yeah. I’m sorry I couldn’t get home sooner”
“ I know” she said with a soft smile and a kiss.
“ How is he?”
“ He’s asleep. He tried so hard to stay awake but he feel asleep watching Wallace and Grommet” she said softly. He looked away from her and walked into the kitchen and sat on the chair.
“ I hate this” he said loud enough for her to hear.
“ Hey its not your fault, you cant help it if a meeting runs late” she assured him, rubbing his back.
“ Yes it is. I took the bloody job” he said, his voice getting louder.
“ Well you didn’t really have a choice”
“ I had a choice and I took the wrong one” he said standing up.
“ I would just like to spend more then 2 seconds with my son without anybody interrupting me” he started to yell.
“ I know” she said trying to calm him
“ No you don’t. Your with him every minuet of every bloody day. You were there for his first word. You were there for when he took his first steps. You are here to tuck him in at night” he yelled at her.
“ Gibbs stop” she yelled back at her. He took a breath and ran his hands through his hair.
“ Mummii” they heard Daniel cry out. They looked at each other.
“ You go” he said softly. She left for his room. Gibbs stood there staring at the floor. He was to tired to do this now. He locked and turned everything off. He then made his way to the bedroom, got changed and hopped into bed. Soon after Kate walked in, got changed and hopped in beside him. She rolled on her side not facing him. The room was filled was silence and Gibbs didn’t like it. He turned over to her and put a hand on her shoulder.
“ Kate, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to yell” he said softly. She didn’t say anything or move. He took a deep breath.
“ I’ve been thinking” he paused. This got her attention. She turned over to face him.
“ What?”
“ Of resigning” he said softly. Kate looked at him in shock.
“ But you love it”
“ Not as much as I love you and Daniel. If I resign then you can go back to work” he said matter of factly. She was speechless.
“ Are you sure your willing to do that? You’ve been an NCIS agent for a long time, do you really want to give it up now?” she asked cautiously. He let out a big sigh.
“ I have been thinking about this and I think I need it”
“ Well ok. If your sure”
“ I’m sure” he said and kissed her. She smiled at him and wrapped her arms around him. She cuddled up to him and was almost asleep when.
“ Kate” he said softly.
“ Mmm”
“ I am sorry, for yelling” he said.
“ Stop apologizing. I forgive you already” she said lifting her head and kissing him.

Today was the day that Gibbs was officially a free man. He didn’t have to get up and go to work. He got to spend the hole day with his boy while Kate was at work.
It had been a long day and she walked in to the wonderful smell of stir fry.
“ You resigning was the best idea ever” she said walking into the kitchen.
“ Actually I retired” he said with a smile.
‘ You what?” she said shocked.
“ Mummii” Daniel screamed as he ran in.
“ Hey sweetie” she said with a smile. She bent down and picked him up giving him a big hug.
“ Did you have a good day with daddy?” she asked.
“ Yesss” he said with a big smile. She kisses his little cheek and puts him in his high chair. Gibbs serves up the food and they eat in silence, except for Daniel’s ramblings.
After Kate puts Daniel to bed her and Gibbs sit on the couch and watch the movie on TV ‘Witness’. Kate sits close next to Gibbs and he puts his arm around her.
When the movie is over Gibbs turns the TV off and looks at Kate.
“ What are thinking about?” he asks.
“ Just. You told me that you resigned not retired”
“ It’s the same thing”
“ Yeah I know”
“ Then what’s all the fuss?”
“ Nothing, don’t worry about it. I’m just glad your happy” she said with a smile and kissed him.
“ I am happy” he replied kissing her again. He forced her down on the lounge and laid on top of her and placed kisses along her neck.
“ Gibbs its been a long day” she tried to reason with him.
“ So”
“ So I’m tired”
“ So” he says again bitting her neck.
“ Fine, but be quiet”
“ Your telling me to be quiet, I should be telling you to be quiet” he said with a cheeky smile then kissed her. His hands unbuttoning her shirt and hers taking his off. They throw their tops away. Gibbs attacks her breasts with kisses as she fumbled with his belt.
“ Mummii” they heard Daniel yell from his room. They both stopped and gave a sigh. Kate pushed Gibbs off her, kissed him and headed for Daniel’s room.
She entered their bedroom to find Gibbs lying on top of the blankets of the bed. She looks at him and he smiles at her.
“ He’s asleep?” he asks.
“ Yep” she says as she makes her way to her side of the bed. She starts to take her skirt off when she feels rough hands run down her back. she turns around to face Gibbs. She stares into his eyes and runs her hands over his chest. He pulls her down to the bed and positions himself over her. He kisses her and runs his hand along her body. She runs her hands along his back. He is about to take her bra off when.
“ Daddii” Daniel yells again. They both sigh and he collapses on top of her with a little laugh.
“ Go on” she says patting his back.
“ Urgh. Don’t move” he said kissing her.
“ I’m not going anywhere” she said with a smile.
He went into Daniel’s room and got him to sleep once again. He walked back into his room to find Kate still there and looking as hot as ever except that she had fallen asleep. He smiled to himself and walked around and tucked her in. He got into bed himself and looked over at her.
“ Changes” he whispered to himself with a laugh and went to sleep.
