Author's Chapter Notes:
Gibbs, through an unusual set of circumstances, finds himself in prison
Gibbs banged on the door in front of him like there was no tomorrow. He looked
through
the mesh covering the small window and saw a guard walking at the end of the
corridor.

"Hey!" Gibbs shouted, "Hey! Get me outta here!"

Gibbs cursed loudly as the guard paid him no attention. Eventually he stopped
banging on
the door and sat on the bunk that was provided for him to sleep on. He looked at
his
hands and sighed, they were battered and bleeding from his assault on the door.

"Lights out!!" a call suddenly came from somewhere outside his door, followed
soon after
by the lights being turned out.

In the sudden darkness, he quickly got up and stood by the window in the door,
wanting
some light from the corridor to filter through. It wasn't only that he'd
suddenly developed
a phobia of the dark, but as soon as the lights were turned out, his cell row
had erupted in
noise. He heard men shouting about something he couldn't make sense of, whilst
others
were laughing hysterically. To add to the general noise, he could hear people
clanging tin
against the metal frames of their beds.

But that's not to say that he wasn't adding to the noise. He'd started banging
his fists on
the door and yelling to get him out. Finally, he saw a guard make his way down
the
corridor. The guard got out his baton and banged it a few times on the nearest
cell door to
get the inmates to quieten down.

"The next person to make a peep is going straight to the morgue!" the guard
shouted

Most inmates shut up, and maybe that was the sensible thing to do, but Gibbs
felt he had
to let the guard know that a mistake had been made.

"Hey!" Gibbs shouted at him, "I'm an NCIS agent, let me out. I'm not - "

"Open 118!" the guard shouted, presumably at another guard, and gave Gibbs a
feral grin

Gibbs stepped back as his door slid open, thanking his luck that the guard had
listened to
him. But his relief was short-lived as three guards entered his cell and took
out their
batons.

Gibbs kept all of the guards in sight as they entered. Then when the first
attacked, he
side-stepped him and kneed him in the balls. That seemed to spur the other two
into
action and as they both ran forward, Gibbs tried to defend himself, but it was a
losing
situation from the beginning.

As Gibbs hit the ground and lifted his arm to fend off blows to his head, he
thought back
to how he'd gotten into this mess.

Gibbs sighed and looked at the empty desks in front of him. Or more like, two
empty desk
and one occupied desk - currently occupied by an agent who wasn't cleared to go
into the
field.

"Boss?" Tony asked, sensing something was up

Gibbs sighed again, "Something doesn't add up. I'm gonna question Ross and Jones
again,"

"Okay," Tony replied, grabbing his gear

"Alone, DiNozzo," Gibbs responded, getting up

"You're going without backup?" Tony asked, sounding concerned

"I can handle myself, Tony," Gibbs responded

"All the same, I'd prefer if I went with you, or even can't you wait till Ziva
and McGee get
back?" Tony asked as Gibbs put on his jacket

"No Tony, you're on desk duty, and besides which, I'm not risking your health by
taking
you out in this weather. And it'll be at least 2300 by the time Ziva and McGee
get back,"
Gibbs responded as he walked out of the office, "I want a work-up of their
criminal,
financial and phone records by the time I get back,"

Gibbs made quick work of getting to the house where Ross and Jones lived, along
with
their other flat mate, Ricky. He stopped in front of the door and groaned
silently to
himself when he realized he didn't have his cell phone on him. As he raised his
fist to
knock, the door opened revealing the two men he wanted to question.

"Ah, Agent Gibbs, you surprised me," Jones said quickly, holding a hand over his
chest

"Yeah, well we kinda weren't expecting you, Agent Gibbs," Ross said before Gibbs
could
reply, "And we're about to head out,"

"I won't take long," Gibbs responded, turning to walk with the two men, "I just
have a few
questions - "

"Only a few?" Ross asked

Gibbs grinned, "Yeah. You said that you radioed headquarters and told them
straight away
that Corporal Red was injured?"

"That's correct," Ross responded

Gibbs nodded, "You got the call to respond to a situation on the docks at 2231
and you
got to the scene at 2237,"

"Yep," Ross replied

"Then Jones here arrived at 2245 to back you up, it had sounded like a big
fight," Gibbs
continued, "But you didn't use your radio again until 2258, why? What were you
both
doing during that time?"

"Well, that was when we found the navy guy," Jones replied

"He was a marine," Gibbs corrected, "Okay, say I buy it. Neither of you found
the corporal.
But why didn't you give headquarters an update?"

"There was nothing to update them on. We got there and there was nobody around,
we
found your corporal as we were about to leave," Ross explained

Gibbs smirked, "So there was nobody there, but you guys still hung around for a
good
twenty minutes...doing nothing..."

Ross turned to Gibbs and stopped walking, "You know, you're right. We weren't
doing
nothing,"

Gibbs stopped walking as well, watching the two men closely, as he realized he
had
already known who had killed the marine before he left NCIS.

"You gonna tell me?" Gibbs asked

"No, but he might," Ross responded, indicating somebody behind Gibbs

Gibbs smirked, "There's nobody behind me,"

"I am," a voice floated from behind him

Gibbs glanced over his shoulder and saw the third roommate, Ricky standing
behind him.
Gibbs groaned and looked back at Ross and Jones to find Ross holding a taser.
Before
Gibbs could react, Ross pulled the trigger, causing Gibbs to fall to the ground
and
convulse as electric shocks ran through his body...
