Kate rolls over in their big bed to find Gibbs missing.She sits up and looks around the room.The smell of pancakes suddenly fills her lungs.She smiles,throws off the blanket and makes her way to the kitchen.She see Gibbs plating up freshly cook pancakes."What's all this?"she asked looking at the made up table.He turned and gave her a smile before rumaging around the fridge for the maple syrup."I thought we agreed we wouldnt celebrate today?We havent the past two years"she told him.He closed the fridge and set everything on the table.He guided Kate over to her chair."I thought we could change that...well this year anyway"he said with a smile.She shrugged as she poured syrup on her pancakes."I'm not complaining"she said with a smile.He leaned in and gave her a quick kiss."I'll be in the shower when your done"he said with a smirk.Kate couldnt help but giggle.Wake up sex was always the best.

They had been at work for an hour and everyone was bored.Kate decided to pay Abby a visit."Abby what's with all the decorations?"she asked with a laugh as she looked around Abby's heart decorated lab."I love valentines day.It's not just for star crossed lovers you know"she informed Kate."You too"Kate said with a sigh."What?"she asked confused.kate sat down in Abby's spare seat before she started to explain herself."Jethro and I agreed we wouldnt do valentines day and it has been great the past two years without all the roses and cards.But this morning he made me breakfast and said he wanted a change of tradition...for today anyway"she explained.Abby looked at her with a goofy grin."What?"Kate asked kind of annoyed."Nothing.It's just...you're complaing about your boyfriend being romantic"she said trying not laugh,but failing."Abby,Jethro doesnt do romantic.Sweet yes,but romantic"she said."Kate just go with it ok?In a couple of hours it will all be over.Just let him have his fun"Abby told her.Kate eyed her suspciously."You know something"she accused."I know everything but I am not going to tell a soul"she said with a smile."You better not"cam Gibbs' gruff voice.Kate jumped a little not expecting him.she looked between Abby and Gibbs."You know I dont like surprises and I hate secrets more"she told them."Oh trust me you're going to love this one"Abby couldnt help herself."Abby"Gibbs growled.She just smiled.He then turned to Kate."Don't you have some work to do"he said.She sighed and jumped off the chair and walked passed him,leaving the two alone.Gibbs watched her leave,his eyes not lteaving her ass.Abby cleared her throat to get his attention."So do you have them?"she asked excitedly.He stepped closer and pulled a small box from his jacket pocket.Abby took it and opened it.Inside was a small silver band that was decorated with a floral design around the edge and in the middle was engraved 'KForeverJ' in elegant writing."It's perfect"Abby said mezmerised by it."And yours?"she asked looking up at him."Them same,without the floral"he told her.Her face lightend up.Hse handed the box to him and hugged him tight."I'm so happy for you guys"she said."Will she be disappointed?"he asked.Abby pulled back and looked at him."Are you kidding?Do you really think she wants to be known as Mrs Gibbs number four"Abby said with a laugh.He smiled and kissed her cheek."T
hanks Abs"he said then left her lab.It was almost leaving time.Tony was watching look clock on his computer screen."Hot date tonight Tony?"Kate asked teasingly."Of course.Valentines day is my most busiest night Katie"he said not looking at her."You're pathetic"she said with a laugh."No you are.Why do you not celebrate it?"he asked now looking at her."I think love should be celebrated everyday not just one day of the year.Besides what about all the single people out there watching all the couples sharing romantic diners and exchaning gifts"she explained."I take it you were most valetines day"he replied.She just nodded."Cheer up.It aint that bad"he said."I agree.Grab your gear"Gibbs said as he walked into the bullpen.Tony and Kate looked at him before moving."Where we going boss?"Tony asked as always."Home"he answered as he pulled his own jacket on.Kate and Tony exchanged glances and decided not to question him."Ok.See you guys tomorrow.Don't stay up to late"he said quickly before running to the elevator.Kate turns to Gibbs with a smile."Why the early mark?"she asked."We have a date"he said as he took her hand and lead her to the elevator.

"Jet,where are we going?"Kate called out."I cant tell you"he called back.Kate poked her head into the bathroom where Gibbs was brushing his teeth."How am I suppose to find something to wear if I dont know where we are going"she asked with a smile.Gibbs stopped brushing his teeth and turned to face her."Where that black dress with the low back"he said.Kate looked at him and nodded.She never really thought he paid much attention to her clothes,but obviously he had.Once she was dressed she over took the bathroom to do her hair and make-up.She finally made her way down stairs where Gibbs was waiting for her."You look gorgeous"he said as he gave her a quick kiss on the cheek."Now put this on"he insructed holding out a silk blindfold."You're kidding right?"she said looking at the flimsy material."Yep"he said as he stepped forward and placed it over her eyes."If this is your idea of a joke, it isnt very funny"she said as he took her by the arm and helped her out of the house and into the car.He quickly ran back and locked the house before running back to the car.It wasnt a long drive but longer then what she had expected for any resturaunt.Gibbs stopped the car,got out and ran around the car to help Kate.She noticed the different smell in the air and how quiet it was."Are we by the water?"she asked as she held on tightly to him."You'll see"was all he said."Ok step up.That's ok.Ready?"he said as he kissed her neck.She just nodded.He slowly slid the blindfold off.When Kate's eyes adjusted to the dim light she gasped at what she saw."Jethro"she said not knowing what to say.He had hired a boat for the night and had seat a table up on the deck.There were two candles on the table and fairy lights hung up around the boat was to be their light for the night,along with the moon and the stars.She turned around to face him, a huge smile on her face."You like?"he asked.She nodded."I do.I really do"."Bur?"."It's not necessary.I know you love me and you dont need a romantic dinner to prove that"she explained.He simply smiled and nodded his head,"I know,but you deserve it once in a while"he said then kissed her."Come dinner is waiting"he said pulling her towards the table.He poured her a glass of wine before heading down underneath to get the food and put on some classical music to set the scene.He ran back up with two paltes of egg plant parmagne and a side salad."This is amazing"she said after her first bite of her parmagne."It gets better"he tells her."This is already better.All I was expecting was a quick dinner,a movie then amazing sex"she says."There's still time for the amazing sex"he said with a grin making Kate laugh.After dinner and another glass of wine Gibbs invited her for a dance.She gladlt accepted.They have never gone dancing before so she is really surprised that he can actually dance.'Shouldnt be surprised,he has been married three times'she thought to herself as she rested her head on his shoulder.He placed a kiss to her hair then whispered."I love you Katie" into her ear.She leaned back and looked into her eyes."I love you too, Jethro"she says then leans in and kisses him.His hand runs down her back over her bare skin before resting on the small of her back,pulling her in closer.She let out a soft moan,wanting more.Gibbs pulled and saw the disappointment in her eyes."Wait" he tells her then quickly heads back down the stairs.Kate waits looking up at the clear stary night.She is so mezmerized she diesnt hear Gibbs return until an arm is snaked around her waist.She smiles and turns around to kiss him.He allows one quick kiss then pulls away,which annoys the hell out of Kate."Have I done something?"she asks.He shakes his head but before he has time to answer her properly she speaks again."Then why all of a sudden are you being distant?"she said."Kate just shh for a moment ok"he said,all authority coming into his voice and Kate knew better then to argue with this Gibbs.He let out a shaky breath."Katie I know you dont like valentines day but I couldnt think of a more perfect day"he started.She wanted to but in but held her tongue."Kate I love you so much and...and that isnt going to change anytime soon.You deserve so much and I wan to give it all to you,but I cant.All I can promise is that I will never stop loving you"he said.He took another breath and brought out the first small box from his pocket.Without saying anything he handed it to her.She reached out and took it with a shaky hand.She opened the box slowly and gasped and looked up at Gibbs with wide eyes.Gibbs stepped forward and took the ring from the box and took her hand."I'm not asking you to marry,what I am asking is for a life together in a committed relationship with the woman I love and what happens inbetween...well"he couldnt find the right words."We will deal with it when it happens"she said.He let out a sigh and placed the silver band on her finger."It's beautiful.A commitment ring.Do you have one?"she asked.He pulled out the second box and handed it to her.She opened it and saw a matching ring,his of course more masculine.She took the ring from the box and put it on hi finger.He pulled her closer and kissed her."Why didnt you propose?"she asked out of curiosity."A little birdy told me that you wouldnt want to be known as the fourth Mrs Gibbs".Kate laughed."I could kiss Abby"she said jokingly."How about kissing me?"he said in a low voice."Much better option"she said before clsoing the gap between them.
