Danny's visit comes to an end.
Danny's World: part 3
by Crow

Danny woke on the first day of his second week
visiting his father and Tony. He streached and then
snuggled back under the quilt on his bed just enjoying
the comfortable room and the loving home he'd found
here. Gibbs and Tony had left no doubt in his mind
that he was to see this as his home as much as his and
Mac's apartment was back in New York. They had spent
the first Saturday decorating his room. They'd painted
first thing in the morning and while the paint was
drying they took Danny out to some of the cool local
shops that tourists never found.

Gibbs had good naturedly been the pack mule for his
son and lover as the younger men teased him and
modeled goofy glasses and hats and other fun things
found in one shop. They had him laughing and
actually enjoying himself, which he would deny under
duress.

At one point Gibbs saw his son eyeing a statue of a
father and son walking together. The father had his
arm acrossed the boy's shoulder and seemed to be
attentively listening to something the child was saying.

Once they had gotten a few shops away Gibbs signaled
Tony to take some of the bags. He stated he'd be right
back and left the younger men looking at some books
in the "Rare Finds" bookstore. Gibbs made his way
back and bought the statue his son had stared at.
He had it wrapped and then made his way back to the
bookstore.

Once they'd finished decorating Danny's room Gibbs had
looked around and said the room looked great but
was missing something in his opinion. He held up his
hand before either younger man could say anything
and walked out of the room. He came back a few mintues
later with a gift box. He handed it to Danny and
encouraged the boy to open it.

Danny had sat on his bed and opened the package as
Tony and Gibbs had looked on. He was shocked and
amazed to find the statue he'd seen in one of the stores
they'd been in earlier. He'd been close to tears as he
stood and hugged his father. Gibbs Had grinned and
hugged him tight and then asked where Danny thought
the statue should go.

Danny had looked at both men and then smiled and
walked to the chest of drawers with a mirror on top. He
gently placed the statue on top in the center. It would be
perfect there he could see it from anywhere in the room.
Even laying in bed he could see it and remember that
he had a real Dad now that loved him.

Now as he lay in bed he found himself staring at the gift
and tearing up again. He sniffled and wiped his hands
over his moist eyes and then picked up his cell to call
his lover and wish him a good morning.

At the end of the week Danny stood at the gate before
bording for his flight home. He was surounded by his
new family members being hugged and making
promises to call and make arrangments for the next
visit.

When the bording call was made Gibbs pulled Danny
aside after everyone else had said goodbye. The older
man wrapped him in a tight hug, kissed the side of
his son's head. Gibbs pulled back till his hands rested
on Danny's shoulders. He stared into his son's eyes.

"I love you Danny."

Danny blinked rappidly and wrapped his arms around
his father again. He held onto the older man as if his
life depended on the hug.

"I love you too Dad."

As the final bording call was anounced Gibbs kissed the
side of his son's head again and then sent him on his
way.

A few hours later Danny heard his name called ashe
walked out of the gate having safly landed in New York.
He looked up and saw Mac smilling at him. He ran to his
lover and was engolfed in another hug.

"I missed you baby. I love you."

"Imissed you too Mac. I love you so much."

Mac squezzed his young lover and then turned and
headed them for home. He had a smile on his face the
whole way as Danny told him all about his first visit
to see his father.
