Sometimes she comes to him in his dreams at night. He lies in his bed and sees her face in front of him, laughing, teasing. He wants to reach out for her, to hold her but she dances away from him. He's never been sure how she feels about him; sometimes she seemed to go out of her way to insult him, but the last time he was really with her, when he was so ill, she was soft and tender, worrying over him. He wants to be more to her than just a co-worker, to feel her warm against him, but he knows it's never to be.
In the middle of her dancing she pirouettes and he sees the angel wings and one word leaves his mouth.
"Kate."
