Author's Chapter Notes:
A drink at a bar, from Abby's mindset.
A Drink

A drink. A nervous joke. A laugh. It hadn't been a very good one, but she felt obliged to laugh anyway. She looked him over carefully, as he took another gulp of his beer. Had he always been that hot? Maybe she was just drunk…no that wasn't it, all she'd had was the rest of her Caff-Pow.
Did she really have feelings for him? No, she must have been imagining it. He told another joke, this one was way better, and she laughed again. It seemed to boost his confidence, and he slowly relaxed back into his usual Tonyness, rather than the shell of a perfect person that he had been trying to project.
They continued to talk about the usual stuff, work, food, etc. As they conversed the nagging feeling that she liked him grew bigger and bigger. Should she say something? But after all, it was just a drink. Two adults chatting at a bar. It didn't have to escalate to something…bigger. Maybe she didn't even want it to…no that was a lie. She did.
