This story just became my top favorite. It's sooo touching, and the part below had me crying! You worked up to it perfectly and everything Gibbs did was packed with emotion, folding his shirts, etc. Cannot say enough good things about this story. I started reading this on my iphone and finally had access to my computer so have been avidly reading this all day! It was a rec over at ficfinders in an old post and I'm so happy I linked to your story. Anyway I loved the whole story and the happy ending. Loved Tony telling Gibbs to shut up when he got too emotional. Lots of wonderful passages beginning with the young Tony and Abby. Some really bright ideas in your story and you have woven a compelling story. Great!

I read this story a while back and just revisited it after seeing it on a recommended list. I love the whole idea, which makes a lot of sense plus a great story. That Gibbs hesitates and denies is true to his character. There are so many wonderful parts but I particularly like the scene when Tony blew up and told Gibbs he was quitting. Fornell was great, too, always a pleasure in the show and in fic. I have this story as a 'keeper' in my save folder. Just great!
